ABOUT

Chuck McDonald’s practice is focused on three primary areas: (1) serving as outside general counsel to clients in the construction industry; (2) representing clients in business and commercial litigation matters; and (3) representing clients in select personal injury and property damage claims. Chuck also brings his trial experience to bear in assisting other firm attorneys and firm clients in complex estate and trust litigation matters.  

Chuck maintains an active trial practice having tried numerous cases to verdict in all state and federal courts in South Carolina. He has also represented clients in many private arbitration proceedings and administrative hearings over the years. In addition to his trial practice, Chuck has significant appellate experience. During his many years of practice, he has been involved in significant appeals that have shaped the law of arbitration, insurance coverage, and surety bond claims in South Carolina.

A native of Hartsville, South Carolina, Chuck received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe.

Chuck and his wife, Deb, are members of Shandon Presbyterian Church and are active in local community and charitable endeavors. Outside of his law practice, Chuck enjoys bird hunting, following college sports, snow skiing, travel, and spending time with his family and friends.
